Does the 2-Day Merzouga tour depart from Marrakech?

Yes, the tour departs from Marrakech on Day 1, driving south through the High Atlas, Ouarzazate and the Draa Valley to Merzouga. Day 2 returns via a different scenic route. The tour can also be arranged as a one-way journey ending in Merzouga if you plan to continue travelling independently.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 – Marrakech → Draa Valley → Merzouga Sahara
Depart Marrakech early, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass. Visit the iconic Aït Benhaddou UNESCO kasbah before descending into the Draa Valley — Morocco's longest valley at over 200km, lined with ancient kasbahs, lush palm groves and Berber villages. Continue east through the pre-Saharan plains to Merzouga. Arrive by late afternoon, mount your camel and ride into the legendary Erg Chebbi dunes for a golden-hour sunset. Overnight in a traditional Berber desert camp under a sky full of stars.

Day 2 – Sahara Sunrise & Return to Marrakech
