Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Marrakech → High Atlas → Aït Benhaddou → Dadès Gorge
Depart Marrakech at 7:00am heading south through the dramatic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m). Stop at the iconic Aït Benhaddou — a UNESCO World Heritage ksar and filming location for Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Continue through the Valley of Roses and the stunning Dadès Gorge. Overnight in a guesthouse in Boumalne Dadès.
Day 2 – Dadès → Todra Gorge → Merzouga Sahara Desert
After breakfast, drive through the spectacular Todra Gorge — Morocco's most dramatic canyon with walls reaching 300m high. Continue east through the Ziz Valley palm oasis. Arrive in Merzouga by late afternoon. Mount your camel and ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes for a golden-hour sunset. Spend the night in a shared Berber desert camp with traditional music around the fire.
Day 3 – Sahara Sunrise → Draa Valley → Return to Marrakech
Wake before dawn to watch the Sahara sunrise paint the dunes in shades of amber and gold. After a traditional Berber breakfast at camp, begin the return journey through the ancient Draa Valley — lined with centuries-old kasbahs and lush palm groves. Cross back over the High Atlas Mountains and arrive in Marrakech by early evening.
